High above Madeira’s south coast, ten villas rise from the volcanic hillside of Tábua — terraced between Ponta do Sol and Ribeira Brava, on the island’s sunniest shore. ÆTHER is Prometheus at its most ambitious: architecture dissolved into cliff, timber, basalt and glass — each home a private amphitheatre over the Atlantic.

Carved into the cliff.
Each villa is anchored on a basalt plinth and cantilevered towards the horizon, its glass curtain walls held in a frame of blackened steel and thermo-treated timber. Nothing sits on the land — everything grows out of it.
Nature’s materials, refined.
Volcanic stone quarried from the island. Slatted timber screens that filter the afternoon sun. Endemic planting spilling over every terrace edge, so the architecture disappears into the hillside it came from.

Heated pools and jacuzzis suspended over the coast, sun decks angled to the last light of the day, and outdoor lounges built for the long Madeiran evening. Every villa, its own retreat.
